Going Green: Caring about the environment is important for us at CHAK. We are proud to be able to offer a full line of disposable plates and cutlery that are completely compostable/biodegradable. As technology advances, we hope to be able to expand on this line. As another option, we can offer a full line of dishware, cutlery and glassware rentals.

Our flavorful dishes come naturally to Philadelphia native Chef Ali Haneef, whose parents were known for their culinary skill, hearty food and warm hospitality. Growing up in a row home with 5 siblings and a cousin, who was more like a brother, the Chef helped to prepare many of the family meals and became a critical component of his heritage. It came as no surprise to his family when he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a chef and restaurateur.
Chef Ali began his professional career at several restaurants and catering facilities throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey. During his tenure, Chef Ali won high praise from diners and critics alike. Wherever he worked became known as an acclaimed culinary destination. Chef Ali would soon be set on a course to become both a culinary celebrity and a savvy restaurateur.
Impressed by his talent, his in-laws convinced him to become part of their business which became known as Chef Haneef Ali’s Kitchen. He became the restaurant's executive chef. Shortly thereafter, his hard work, determination and passion earned him the role of partner.
Since Chak’s opening, we have received generous praise and reviews. Chef Ali is a pioneer in the restaurant business, and poised for even greater growth. While there has been a strong demand for the Chef’s concepts to expand rapidly, he prefers to treat each project with personal attention and meticulous care to the best standard of culinary excellence. Chef Ali oversees every element of the meal, from concept creation to design and décor to menu development and staff training, cementing his role as a gifted chef and talented entrepreneur.
